Pensioner housing
Land had been bought in Picton Avenue suitable for (the erection of 12 pensioner (houses, the Riccarton Borough Council was told on Tuesday evening. The Mayor of Riccarton! (Mr R. W. J. Harrington) said that land for such purposes ( was difficult to get in Riccar-1 ton but the State Advances* Corporation had sold the! land on the condition that it 1 be used for pensioner hous-l ing. The borough still had about! 65 persons on the pensioner!' housing waiting list. Mr Har-| rington said.
