Baghdad Note wins

(N.Z. Press Association) SYDNEY. The former New Zealand horse Baghdad Note, won his first race since his 1970 Melbourne Cup triumph in a handicap mile for a stake of $l2OO at the Victorian country course of Sey-, mour on Thursday.

The seven-year-old grey raced unsuccessfully at the big spring; meetings in Sydney and Melbourne last year and was then! sold by his South Island owner.' Mr E. C. S. Falconer, to Mr; J. Thomson, of Melbourne. His trainer, T. Millard, was. not surprised by the horse's win. “I don't think he could ever! have met a worse field than, that,” he said.
