It was now legal for milk and cream to be sold in bottles of 600 millilitres, 300 ml and 150 ml capacity, and butter in packages of 250 grams net weight, the Minister of Labour (Mr Watt) said today. This follows the making of the weights and measures metric packages notice. The present pint milk bottle holds about 568m1. The existing milk and cream bottles of imperial measure will be graduallv phased out. The new' 250-gram pack of butter is equivalent to about 8)oz.
