Injury to Knight

The Canterbury hopes for the national cycling championships were dealt a severe blow at the weekend when R. E. Knight broke a bone in his thumb and another in his wrist.

It was at first thought the injury was only a sprain, but the pain drove Knight to hospital and Xrays revealed the seriousness of the injury.

It is still possible Knight will be able to ride in the national championships—he was one of the favourites for the sprints—and the next week will decide his chances.
