For want of nails
Soviet farm horses are havhaving to do without shoes this winter because nails needed to reshoe them are in short supply, “Pravda” reported yesterday. Several farm managers are said to have written to the Communist Party newspaper complaining about the shortage and demanding action. But the factory which was once Russia’s main supplier ended production at the beginning of this year, and the factory now given the task does not plan to start for several months.—Moscow, Feb. 15.
