Menuetto has held her place as favourte for the Gore Cup, in which Solar Flight and Haste Ye Back are the most likely to make a race of it with her. Redlo, Lady Mellay. On Saturday, after rain fell on a fllnt-like track before the third race, several jockeys indicated that the track had become dangerous and they would not ride again at the meeting. They requested a meeting with the judicial committee, and after jockeys, stipendiary stewards and club officials had inspected; the track it was decided to postpone the remaining five races! until today. ( The senior jockeys, G. W. Wright, M. J. Lawson and M. J. Skelton, all felt the track was dangerous and indicated that they would not ride again. Their 'opinion was not shared by (several trainers who maintained there was nothing wrong with I the track.
The Wingatui trainer, H. A. Anderton, and the Gore trainer, E. A. Winsloe, were both adamant that there was nothing wrong with the course, but the Gore trainer, R. J.
