Pro-tour meeting

Delegates from nine organisations from throughout New Zealand will attend a pro-Springbok tour conference at Wellington on January 27—a conference which will be open to the press.

The conference organiser, Mr K. Peacock, said yesterday that most pro-tour organisations would attend, with the intention of discussing issues involved and passing remits which would ensure that the Springbok team could tour New Zealand “free from harassment both on and off the field.” There must be full cooperation between the New Zealand Rugby Union, provincial Rugby unions, the police, and the Commonwealth Games Organising Committee, said Mr Peacock.

The conference chairman will be Mr R. Fenton, of the W.A.R.D. organisation.
