BURIED TICKER

(N.Z. Press Association> WHANGAREI, Jan. 18. A watch which was lost eight years ago has been found embedded in a farm race and still in perfect running order. Mr N. E. Barnes, of Towai, lost the watch while working on his farm. It was a twenty-first birthday present from his mother. Last week, when a grader was working on the farm race, the watch was found. After a few shakes the watch was ticking again. The glass face is slightly cracked and there is a slight dent in the strap clasp, where it was run over by the grader. But apart from this, the watch was in excellent shape, said a Whangarei jeweller, Mr W. Palmer.
