All Blacks win Ulster award
(From ]. K. Brooks, N .Z.P.A. Special Correspondent) I NEWPORT. The Ail Blacks have won the prestige award for the' team doing most for sport in Ulster in 1972. In an annual contest conducted by the Belfast news-' paper, “Sunday News,” the I All Blacks are placed first in 'the team section, and Northjem Ireland’s Olympic gold, I medallist, Mrs M. Peters, first I j in the individual contest. The sports editor of the! I newspaper, Mr C. McAlpine,. I will travel to Dublin the day I 'before the New Zealand-Ire-1 land test to present the plaque to a team representa--1 tive, probably the captain. I. A. Kirkpatrick. Readers of the newspaper were invited to send in nominations for awards, after which a panel of judges I I sifted their letters, before deciding on the winners. “The All Blacks’ gesture in: travelling to Belfast to play Ulster made a big impression I here." the paper’s Rugby; writer.
