LAST RIND

(N.Z. Press Association)

HAMILTON. Jan. 9.

The last consignment of rinded cheese for export from New Zealand will leave for the United Kingdom in the next few weeks. An official of the Dairy Division of the Ministry of Agriculture said in Auckland today that after the consignment left no more rinded cheese would be made. “Rinded cheese creates a waste problem, and it is largely economics which has led us to replace it by smaller sizes of rindless cheese with no waste,” the dairy products supervisor (Mr J. S. Aitken) said. The 801 b blocks of rinded cheese would be replaced by 401 b blocks of rindless cheese.
