Japanese vision
A Japanese oil-refining group plans to have a 700.000 - deadweight - ton tanker built to carry oil from the Middle East to its terminal in southern Japan. Ishi-kawaiima-Harima Heavy Industries is discussing the technical problems involved with the Tokyo Tanker Com pany. part of the Nippon oil group. Late last year. 1.H.1 built a 477.000-ton tanker, the world’s largest afloat, at its Kure shipyard, for Blogtik Tankers, of Britain, from which the Nippon group will charter her when she is completed next month.—Tokyo.
