Fire in house

Fire seriously damaged an old wooden house on the comer of Tyne and Lowe streets, Addington, shortly before 1.15 a.m. today. Two units, one from Sockbum and the other from Sydenham fire stations, arrived at the scene to find the house burning furiously. The house, which was owned by the Railways Department, had been unoccupied for some w'eeks but was last evening taken over by a group of “bikies.” The police are investigating.
