Three drivers suspended
fiN’.Z. Press Association > AUCKLAND. Three drivers were suspended at the Auckland Trotting Club's meeting at Alexandra Park on Saturday. F E. Newfield, the driver of Royal Ascot in rhe Auckland Trotting Cup, was found guilty of causing interference to Bella's Command • and a half furlongs from the finish. Bella’s Command broke badly and lost all chance. Wag was also affected and i punctured a tyre. New field was suspended up to and including January 2. E. Harding was suspended up to and including January 5 after an inquiry into the breaking of Silver Valley in the New Year Free-for-all. It was found that Harding, the driver of Fleeting Forbes, caused interference to Silver Valley, which broke and checked Gramatan. Both Silver Valley and Gramatan were pulled up. D. K. Gibbons was suspended up to and including January 5 after an inquiry into the breaking of All Princess soon after the start of the Second Prince and Princess Stakes Gibbons.: the driver of Splashover. wasi found to have caused the interference which resulted in All, Princess breaking. Tennis.—The United States re- ■ gained the Sunshine Cup—the ■ world's too junior tennis nations trophy—with ? 2-1 victory over; the holder, Spam, at Miami Beach.
