TROTTING Addington feature race to Noble Lord
Noble Lord followed up a fourth in the Ashburton Cup last I uesday with a splendid win over Dwayne and Hi Foyle in the President's Handicap last evening at Addington Raceway, it was his first success for the season, although he had recorded three placings from 10 starts.
Raced by his Templeton trainer, D. G. Nyhan, and Mrs Nyhan, he was driven last evening by their son, Barry. He is now on a 2:11 assessment, and one further success will qualify him for New Zealand Cup class. Noble Lord, a five-year-old by the old champion Lordship. from Ebonite, will have his most serious test to date in this evening’s Clarendon Free-for-All over a mile. Noble Lord got away well from 24 yards, with Trafalgar setting a moderate pace in the early part. Noble Lord was sprinted up to second on the outside of Dwayne with more than nine furlongs left. Noble Lord was alongside Trafalgar at the straight entrance, with Dwayne waiting for a run along the inner. Lord Nugent was not far
