CAR BEACH RACING

(N.Z. Press Association) NELSON. The Christchurch driver, P. Leversedge, had a lucky win in the feature open-wheel car event of the national beachracing championships at Nelson on Saturday. Leversedge’s 4.6 litre Ford sprinter was headed by the small Cooper Vincent of K. Flashman (Auckland) till it broke an oil pipe near the end of the race. Flashman finished second.

J. Wells, of Nelson, beat R. Hore, also of Nelson, in the Nelson provincial saloon car championship.
