Fine golf In Allin in strong winds

While most other players struggled in strong north-west winds in the Waitikiri Golf Club’s New Year tournament on Sunday. the tall Rangiora player, J. Allin. cruised to a win by nine strokes. In the morning, Allin was tw o under par, with four birdies, on the first nine, and on the second nine dropped another two shots but had a birdie four at the thirteenth. This was almost an

eagle, the ball resting on the edge of the cup. Allin had a lead of six strokes! after this round and hte 73 »r 'the afternoon was beaten only by J. Angus with a 72. G. C. Saunders. who set a course record at Shirley a week ago. was equal third, and another Rangiora player, M. W. Small? , was second with two good rounds. Rangiora players had a field day with Allin, Small. Beggs and another club-mate G.
