Games song contest

There will be particular interest in the 1973 “Studio One” contest, for part of each, programme will be devoted to! a competition to find a suitable official song for the 1974 Commonwealth Games in Christchurch.

The winning song will be recorded and used as the I official song for publicity purposes to promote the Games in Commonwealth countries. A panel representing the N.Z.B.C. and the Commonwealth Games organisation will reduce a short list of entries to the final six, and] these will be heard, one each! week in the six programmes' of “Studo One.” The public will then be invited to judge, and the winner will be announced in the seventh week. The first prize for “Studio One” itself has been increased for 1973 to $750. Otherwise the conditions will be the ' same as in 1972.
