Pro-am win with 67

(N.Z. Press Association) TAUPO. The young Australian professional, S. Ginn, yesterday scored a five-under-par 67 to win the Taupo pro-am golf tournament, and the first prize of $4OO. The only time his concentration lapsed was at the eighteenth when he hooked his tee shot into the trees, also three-putted, and had a one-over six.

But these errors did Ginn no harm, for he finished two strokes ahead of the New Zealanders, D. Clark and S. Owen, and three in front of P. Shadlock and T. Woolbank (Australia). One of the saddest stories of the day’s golf was the four tee shots sent out of bounds at the first hole by another Australian. P. Croker. The hole cost him a seven-over-; par 11 and he finished with a seven-over 79.
