Visitor robbed

A Wellington man was assaulted and robbed of $2O as he was passing Tattersail’s Hotel, 167 Cashel Street, about 11 p.m. yesterday.

The man. Mr Charles Taylor, aged 23, who is staying at New Brighton, was passing the hotel when a man spoke to him briefly, then hit him in the face. Mr Taylor fell to the ground, smashing a flagon of beer he was carrying.

The assailant grabbed a wallet from Mr Taylor’s brfck pocket and made off. Mr Taylor suffered a bloodied nose in the attack.
