MRS MEIR ACTS

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright)

TEL AVIV, Dec. 28.

The Prime Minister (Mrs Golda Meir) called her top Cabinet aides into an emergency meeting today to discuss how to cope with the seizure of the Israeli Embassy and hostages in Bangkok. Government sources said that Mrs Meir received a report from the Ambassador in the Thai capital, Mr Rehavam Amir, but still did not know exactly how many persons were being held by the four members of the Arab guerrilla Black September organisation — or who they were. Mrs Meir, in Tel Aviv for the day, called in her aides, including the Foreign Minister (Mr Abba Eban) for consultations on what to do before the guerrilla deadline for the freeing of 36 prisoners.
