Cinema robbed after show

WELLINGTON Dec. 27. A Lower Hutt theatre manager was bashed by thieves who stole his keys and robbed the threatre of about 8300 last night. Mr A. J. Miller, aged 30, manager of the Prince Edw'ard Cinema, was assaulted after the evening performance as he was about to get into his car.
Several men rushed Mr Miller, punched him and tossed a garment over his head. He was dragged into the theatre, and tied to a seat in the stalls. His assailants then opened the theatre safe, and stole the holiday takings.
After the men left Mr Miller freed himself, and called the police.
Mr Miller was treated later at Hutt Hospital, and discharged.
Back on the job today, Mr Miller bore the marks of the assault—bruised lips and left eye. and a sore leg.
