The Alliance Freezing Company (Southland), Ltd. increased net profit by $105,913, or 30.0 per cent, to $458,276. in the year to September 30. the chairman (Mr J. H. Gordon) says in a preliminary report. The rebates on charges during the 1971-72 season of 10c a lamb and 12c a sheep, together with the recently announced end-of-season discount of 15c a lamb, 18c a sheep and $1.78 for each cattle beast, had reduced revenue by $593,668 and had followed the policy of paying a rebate to producers when operating results made it possible. The directors will recommend to shareholders, at the annual meeting on March 16, a 64 per cent dividend and a one-for-10 bonus issue of shares, dividend participating to shareholders on the register at December 22. 1972.
