Woodward in form
Callan, thanks heavens, is a man of moods. He is not always dispatching the ; enemies of his country with : cold efficiency. . On Wednesday “Act of Kindness” in thes “Callan” series was without.j the violence usually asso-< ciated with it; not that iti suffered unduly from that. Itj was another well-written! play, about a very sort of battle, but it was at; very interesting struggle foi' position. There was a fascina - tion, too, about the war? game Callan played with the benign Mr Land; it would! make the ideal Christmas gift) for one or two old soldiers' we know. ‘
Callan is top of his tree,; a very likable personality andi Edward Woodward plays hinri with splendid consistency. ’
One of the British comedians for whom this viewer; has held very little affection! in the past is Roy Kinnear.; ythueaeveb ma ds2sf, but he made a very useful! contribution to “Doctor Id The House.” He was cast an a professional boarding-hous't comic, and was suitably dreadful. “Doctor In The House” 1 seldom fails to raise a lauglh or two. This time there was another useful performance from a newcomer—the doctor with hypochondria was most amusing.—PANDORA.
