Prop unlikely to play again

(Special Crspdt. N Z P.A.) OXFORD. A decision on the fate of the injured All Black prop, J. D. Matheson, is likely to be made in London at the end of this week. The manager (Mr E. L Todd) said he is hopeful that a special medical board would examine Matheson after his arrival in London either today or Saturday. Mr Todd said that in his opinion, if Matheson was ruled out for four weeks, he would be kept on the tour in the hope he would be able to regain his fitness and play again. But if the board recommended he not play for six weeks, then the matter would have to be reviewed and the question of a replacement raised. From reports of the injury filtering down to Oxford from Edinburgh, it seems unlikely that Matheson will be seen again on the playing fields of Britain this tour.
