Paua fishing all year

(N.Z. Preit Atiociation) WELLINGTON, Dec. 21. There will be no closed season for the taking of paua next year, the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries (Mr Moyle) has announced.

At present there is a closed season from February 1 to May 31, to protect paua during the spawning season. Mr Moyle said the regulations would be amended next ! month. 1 He also announced that a system of annual export quotas would be introduced I immediately to conserve the [paua fishery.
