(A’.Z. Association) BLENHEIM, Dec. 15. A single rail freight charge for the whole of New' Zealand win be Instituted by the Government early next year, according to Mr S. H. Roberts, president of the Marlborough Chamber of Commerce.

He said today that the member of Parliament for Marlborough, Mr I. J. Brooks, had assured him that it was Government policy to institute the new charge system early next year.

At present rail freight was charged separaeely for the two islands and for the Cook Strait ferry service. The change would mean great savings to industry and commerce, Mr Roberts said.
