SUSPICIONS OF ARSON
The Christchurch C. 1.8. last evening investigated two fires, both believed to have been deliberately lit, in Ruskin Street, Addington.
A shed at 57A Ruskin Street was extensively damaged by a fire, which was first noticed about 9 p.m. About 20 minutes later fire broke out in a semi-detached washhouse at 47 Ruskin Street, but only minor damage was caused.
During the fire at 47 Ruskin Street, a man collapsed and was taken to hospital for treatment. He was not affected by the fire.
A detective who investigated the fires spoke to several residents and it is believed the person responsible has been located.
Two appliances, one from the Sydenham fire station and another from Central, attended.
