Another hockey player leaving
The Canterbury hockey team will be without another leading player next season. C. R. Ineson, who represented New Zealand at the Munich Olympic Games, leaves New Zealand later this month for 18 months to two years on a working holiday in Britain and Europe.
Ineson is the second experienced Canterbury player who has decided | recently that he will travel overseas. The other is the New Zealand forward J. J. Bor- : ren, who leaves for Europe in the New Year. Like Borren. Ineson will continue playing hockey while he is overseas, and he said he would like to be included in the New Zealand team if it played in the world cup] ■tournament in Amsterdam next year. Ineson said he would pro-
bably be too late to play in the present British season, but S. G. Maister, another member of the New Zealand team in Munich, who has
been Studying in England for three years, has recommended several clubs where
he may be able to play sum-! mer hockey. Since his return from) Munich Ineson has stayed in) training and he will continue' to do so in the hope of mak-: ing a world cup team. He is) not retiring yet, and he says) he hopes to continue for “a few more years."
Ineson intends to base himself in Britain, although he will also travel to Europe. He will be accompanied by
his wife. Ineson intends to
return to Christchurch
