Small plane damaged

A Cessna Ag Wagon aircraft belonging to Aerial Sowing (Canterbury), Ltd, was extensively damaged in a forced landing in a paddock in Lees Valley on Thursday. The top-dressing aircraft was landed after engine failure. The pilot, Mr C. Bint, was unhurt. The aircraft, one of a fleet of 10, had been spraying broom in the Lees Valley. The aircraft, which suffered damage to its engine and undercarriage, was dismantled after being inspected by officers of the Civil Aviation Division, and was taken to Christchurch for repairs.
