3 hours on ½ gallon

A new, compact outboard motor that cruises for three hours on less than half a gallon of fuel is available for the first time this summer to New Zealand small boat owners.

One or two new models added to the Swedish-made Archimedes Penta and Crescent range distributed in New Zealand b}’ the Motor Holdings Group, the new motor has been developed specially for fishing dinghies and tenders. The 70 c.c. singlecylinder unit, rated at 3.9 h.p., has a speed range of 3200 to 4000 r.p.m. It weighs only 291 b, making it easy to stow in the boot of the smallest car. Unusual in a small motor, the new model incorporates as standard equipment a 6volt lighting take-off point, enabling navigation lights to be run off its electrical system. It also features the loop scavening fuel system already familiar in other Crescent and Archimedes Penta models and which is

the secret of the extremely economical fuel consumption. The air and water-cooled motor has a built-in fuel tank and a streamlined

cowl to minimise projections. It has a recoil starting system and will pivot through 360 degrees for reversing.
