Books still bargains

Are books too expensive? Certainly, some of them are very expensive, but they usually provide a value for money that cannot be found in many other items, and some books are positively cheap, for what they offer. The price of books has increased, but in the opinion of some booksellers, many books have been under-priced in the past. The Increase in the price of books in New Zealand is evident in the price of two paperbacks purchased in 1965, at the equivalent of 85c and 50c. These two books, still in print, are selling for $1.70 and 70c. It would be hard to find other items that have been less affected by inflation.
