PLUNKET SHIELD

Harris back in team (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. R. M. Harris and R. W. Morgan have been recalled to the Auckland cricket team for its first Plunket Shield game of the season, against Wellington on December 23, 24 and 25. Neither were in the side which narrowly beat Northern Districts on Sunday in the first round of the national knock-out competition. Harris was also omitted from the team that played Northland last month but came right back into calculation with his splendid century for his club, University, the next week-end.

Harris’s opening partner in that match against North Shore, J. Riley, who made 206 in an opening stand of 312, is not available for the shield matches. The 12 players named for the Wellington game are: Harris, R. E. Redmond, Morgan, M. G. Burgess (captain), G. E. Vivien, G. Gibson, G. Howarth, R. Dykes, H. J. Howarth, R. S. Cunis, R. Sutton, W. Stott.
