Gas leak in brewery

(N.Z. Press Association) HASTINGS, Dec. 4. The plant foreman at Leopard Brewery, Ltd, in Hastings, Mr F. Kovaleski, was dragged unconscious from a gas-filled room at the brewery last night. Mr Kovaleski was overcome by carbon-dioxide gas which escaped from a valve on a fermenting vat. He was found on the floor of the room by a fellow worker, Mr G. Bullock, who was also partly overcome by the gas. Mr Bullock called the Hastings police, and the unconscious man was dragged outside by Mr Bullock and a constable.

This morning, Mr Kovaleski was back at work.
