Warning for Pakistanis

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright) SYDNEY. The Pakistan cricket team has run foul of Australian umpires, according to a leading Australian sportswriter. Writing in the Sydney Norman Tasker said two leading Pakistani bowlers, including the captain, Intikhab Alam, had received severe warnings for allegedly tearing up the pitch.

Tasker says that the successful Pakistani paceman, Sarfraz Nawaz, was warned for damaging the pitch during the match against Queensland. This followed the shock withdrawal from the attack on Saturday of Intikhab, who was banned from bowling for the rest of the innings for excessively roughing up the pitch in his follow through.

“The incident must weigh on the tourists as they wind up their firstclass preparations,’’ he said. Pakistan and Australia meet in the first test match on December 22.
