Opportunity in air force

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter— Copyright) The United States Air Force plans to treble the number of women in the service in the next five years and put them in virtually every job except combat flying. From January 1 most of the remaining job barriers will be down, and qualified women will be able to take on such work as aircraft maintenance, gunsmith, and missile repairer, BrigadierGeneral Jeanne Holm, Director of Women in the Air Force, said at a Defence Department press conference. But she ruled out the idea of women pilots who under Air Force regulations would have to take a turn at combat duty. United States law prohibits the use of women in combat.
