Peer issues libel writ

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) LONDON, Nov. 23. A former GovernorGeneral of Australia, Lord de L'lsle, who is 63, has issued a writ for libel against Beaverbrook Newspapers, publishers of the “Daily Express.”

He complains of an article published on Friday, and headed: “Stately home guide sacked after asking for tea”; he claims damages, and an injunction to prevent further publication of the alleged libel. A spokesman for Beaverbrook Newspapers said: “The ' writ has been served, and we are entering an appearance.” The guide concerned, Miss , Ann Didier, had been employed at Lord de L'lsle’s home, Penshurst Place, near Tunbridge Wells.
