DELIVERY OF RAIL-CARS
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Nov. 13. The first of the Railways Department’s new Silver Fern rail-cars were unloaded from the Panamanian freighter Quintessence in Auckland this morning. The Japanese made railcars will go into service on December 14, providing a day time Wellington-to-Auckland service every day except Sunday. They will replace the Blue Streak rail-cars, which will be put on to the Wellington-New Plymouth run.
