Pakistan out of treaty
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) ISLAMABAD, Nov. 8. Pakistan today announced its formal withdrawal from the South East Asia Treaty Organisation. Representatives of S.E.A.T.O. member States stationed in Islamabad were summoned and were given letters to their respective Foreign Ministers informing them of the Pakistan Government’s decision. An offiical statement said the decision to leave S.E.A.T.O. fulfilled one of the commitments to the electorate made by President Bhutto.
