For the fifth successive day, United States 852 bombers today launched heavy strikes on both sides of the Demilitarised Zone in an effort to crush a major supply push from North Vietnam into the South, military sources said. The 852 s made their deepest raids into North Vietnam since April, striking 51 miles north-west of the port of Vinh, and about 55 miles south of the 20th Parallel. A partial bombing halt continued above the 20th Parallel.
