Library staff exchange

Ashburton and Queenstown are participating in a new exchange scheme to broaden the experience of library staff. Mrs G. Radcliffe, librarian at the Queenstown Public Library arrived in Ashburton on Monday evening and will work there for a month while Miss B. Blair, an assistant librarian at the Ashburton library will spend the month in Queenstown acting as librarian in the Queenstown library, gaining experience running a sole-charge library. The exchange is seen as a prototype for a national scheme.
