Mr Mouse faces four charges
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, November 7. Four persons, including Mickey Mouse, appeared before Mr W. J, Mitchell, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday on charges relating to a demonstration in Parliament grounds on Sunday.
Mickey Mouse, aged 20, an. unemployed fisherman, ap- i peared on four charges. He was remanded on bail without plea. Mouse, formerly Christopher Lawrence, was charged with using obscene language in Parliament grounds, disorderly behaviour in the drive-
way to St Paul’s Cathedral,! encouraging disorder, and ob-: structing a police sergeant ini the execution of his duty. Mathew Robert Lawrence, aged 19, an unemployed farm worker, entered no pleas to charges of using obscene language in Parliament! grounds, and assaulting a pol- i ice constable in the execution j of his duty. He was also re-! i manded on bail. No plea was taken when i Peter Douglas Gollan, aged 19. a spray painter’s labourer, appeared on a charge of j stealing a flagpole halyard valued at $l, the property of the Government. He was remanded on bail. John Lester Davey, aged 18, unemployed, pleaded not guilty to stealing a police helmet worth $5.33. He was remanded on bail.
