STOP-WORK MEETINGS
Workers in Christchurch wool-scouring plants will hold stop-work meetings this week to discuss the break-down in negotiations over wage claims.
Their advocate (Mr F. E. McNulty) said last evening that the claim was for just over 11 per cent on top of i the recent general wage order and that discussions with the emoloyers were deadlocked. The claim affects all South j Island plants and North I Island scourers as far north as Marton.
