(IV.Z. Press Association)
AUCKLAND, Oct. 30.
The unaudited group net profit of Motor Traders (N.Z.) Ltd, automotive parts and tyre distributor and engineer, eased 4.1 per cent to $379,330 in the year to July 31, the directors say in a preliminary report. The result included 13 months results of E. W. Pidgeon and Company, Ltd, and nine months trading by N.Z. Silencers, Ltd. After adjustment of the 1971 figures to a 12 month basis for all companies in the group, the 1972 result was $16,261 lower.
The latest profit represented an earning rate of 25.2 per cent on slightly higher ordinary capital, against 27.1 per cent last year. The increase in capital was brought about by the issue of shares to staff members.
The dividend was again 14 per cent. The final dividends of 8 per cent ordinary and 3 per cent preference are payable on December 13, shares becoming ex dividend on November 23.
