NEW P.S. GARAGE

The land purchase division of the Ministry of Works is negotiating with A. M. Bisley and Company, Ltd, for the purchase of its property in Antigua Street. The Chief Postmaster (Mr M. T. Reedy) confirmed yesterday that the property was wanted as a new site for the Public Service garage. The garage, which is now situated in St Asaph Street, will become part of the Post Office workshops. Mr Reedy also announced that a new Post Office would be provided at 203 Waimairi Road for the Dam suburb. The present Post Office nearby was no longer big enough to meet the pressure of business.

The Post Office has leased another shop in the block of shops in Waimairi Road and is fitting it out.
