BEST SINCE 1950-51
The average price paid for wool sold at the Christchurch sale on October 6 was the highest since the 1950-51 season. The average was almost 168|c per kilogram or about 92d per lb. This average was last exceeded at the third sale in the 1950-51 season when the figure was 145Jd per lb or about 266 c per kilogram.
This month’s average, at 168.4336 per kilogram, was 215 per cent up on the 531 c average in October last year.
