“DOUBLE BILL”

The “Double Bill” programme featuring Marty Feldman was probably the worst programme I have seen on television. From start to finish, it was too silly for words. In the second part, he referred to a certain group of people, namely dwarfs. His comments were quite nasty. As I watched and listened I hoped none of these people were watching, because of what he was saying. It is about time the N.Z.B.C. stopped showing discriminating programmes as there is enough hatred and trouble in the world, without them adding to it. They should select better programmes. I like comedies, but at least have them at a reasonable level of intelligence. Where does Feldman get his scripts? Whoever writes them should be shot. —DAVID COLLETT.
