THE Amadeus Quartet, which will give the first recital in the James Hay Theatre for the Christchurch Chamber Music Society next Tuesday. Previously the society’s recitals were held in the Civic Theatre. The quartet will play an all-Schubert programme, the Quartet in B major, Quartettsatz in C minor, and the Quartet in D minor (Death and the Maiden). The quartet has visited New Zealand twice previously, in 1958 and 1966.
