Molloy enters for big race

The veteran New Zealand in- * ternational road race motor-cyclist W. (Ginger) Molloy, of Huntly, has entered for the Canterbury Auto Cycle Club’s “Guy Fawkes” meeting at Ruapuna Park on November 5. Recently returned from racing in Australia, Molloy was one of New Zealand’s most successful road racers in Europe until he went into semiretirement about a year ago. In 1970 he was run-ner-up to the brilliant Italian, G. Agostini, in the world 500 ex. championship. It is likely that at Ruapuna he will race the same 500 ex. three-cylinder Kawasaki he used in Europe. He also has a new 750 c.c. Kawasaki machine, almost identical to the ones racing with such success in American events. Molloy will not have matters all his own way in the battle for the major share of the $5OO prize

money, because two other New Zealand racers of international standing —- D. Wylie (Christchurch) and J. D. Landrebe (Dunedin) — have also entered. There are seven races on the programme, but the main event will be of 40 miles for racing machines.
