Powell gains favour

(N.Z. Preu Ann—Copyright) LONDON, Oct. 16. The popularity of the British Conservative Parliamentarian, Mr Enoch Powell, is increasing, according to opinion poll figures issued today. They show that 40 per cent of the people interviewed agreed that he was the only British politician they really admired. This compares with 25 per cent who were asked the same question in June, 1970.

The poll, by the Opinion Research Centre for London Week-end Television’s “Week-end World” programme, shows that 52 per cent did not admire Mr. Powell, compared with 63 per cent in the earlier poll.!
