‘$20,000’ FOR UNIVERSITY

Personal grant by ambassador

(N.Z. Press Association) HAMILTON, Oct. 13. A personal gift towards the establishment of an American studies programme for the University of Waikato was announced today by the United States Ambassador to New Zealand (Mr Kenneth Franzheim). Mr Franheim’s gift may be as large as $lO,OOO to be matched by others to give $20,000 altogether. Other donors now guaranteed are the university, $2500; and the United States Information Service $2500, in books of the university’s choice. The Ambassador has challenged the citizens of Hamilton to match anothel $2500 promised.
